This week we continue our exploration of John Templeton’s twenty-one steps detailed in The Templeton Plan by delving into Step 18: Giving as a Way of Life. We will begin by exploring this particularly rich chapter by laying a definitional groundwork for generosity. As this chapter explains, it applies to much more than simply how you choose to spend your money:
It is wise, [Templeton] feels, to practice giving in every area of life. Give thoughtful, well-reasoned advice. Give thanks. Give attention. Give prizes and honors. If you are lonely, give. If you are bored, give. Take on charity jobs. Help with fund raising.
Sir John did all of these things and more, seeking each day to find new opportunities to share his own success with those around him.
